Buck Leahy is the Senior Vice President for Corporate Development at JHT, Incorporated of Orlando, Fla. JHT is a Service-disabled, veteran-owned business with nearly 1000 employees in 38 states around the country, with business areas including interactive multimedia instruction, advanced distributed learning, interactive electronic technical manuals, specialized video & web development, and professional, technical and IT support services for federal government and commercial customers. His duties at JHT include responsibility for business development, communications, government relations, and community & professional association activities.
He began his career in private industry in 1997, following his retirement as an Infantry Lieutenant Colonel from a 25-year career in the United States Army, having served in a wide range of command, staff, faculty and materiel development positions. While on active duty, as a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), he used his operational experience as a commander, leader and trainer in multiple research & development assignments, managing simulation and training systems for Army Infantry and Armor soldiers, as well as Marine Corps and Joint customers. He also served as Executive Officer to the first Commanding General of Army Simulation, Training and Instrumentation Command (STRICOM).
Mr. Leahy has extensive leadership experience in volunteer organizations. He served as the Conference Chair for the 2004 Interservice & Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC), the largest international event of its kind in the world, with over 15,000 attendees from more than 40 nations. He is the State of Florida president for the Association of the United States Army (AUSA), a non-profit educational organization headquartered in Arlington, VA, and is also a member of AUSA?s National Advisory Board of Directors. He is active in a wide range of community activities, and is serving on the Board of Governors of the Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Columbus (Ga.) College, and a Master of Science degree from Florida Institute of Technology.
