Caroline Crawford is Director of Infrastructure and Systems Software for CSX Technology, a subsidiary of CSX Corporation, a Fortune 500 company based in Jacksonville, Florida. Mrs. Crawford is responsible for the company's server infrastructures, including hardware, storage, systems software, middleware, and data management. Her role spans 24/7 production support, provisioning for new applications deployment, and strategic directions for the Technology Infrastructure.
CSX Technology provides information technology support to CSX Corporation, one of the nation's leading transportation companies, providing rail, intermodal, and rail-to-truck transloading services. CSX Technology has developed a data-processing infrastructure that handles seven million transactions per day, while coordinating the movement of 100,000 rail cars. This infrastructure is used to track locomotives, call a train crew and dispatch trains.
Mrs. Crawford joined CSX Corporation as EDP Auditor and has worked in both the applications development and technical support areas before becoming Director of Middleware and Data Management and, ultimately, Director of Infrastructure and Systems Software.
Mrs. Crawford has more than 20 years of IT technical and management experience, including positions in 24/7 Operations in the airline industry, and IT Audit in the finance industry. She is also an active volunteer for Learn To Read Inc.
Mrs. Crawford holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Florida International University and a Master of Science in Computer Science from the Engineering School of Johns Hopkins University.
